Aftercare

To ensure optimal results and avoid complications after your chemical peel, please follow these aftercare instructions:

Avoid Sun Exposure:

Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. Avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible for at least 7–10 days post-treatment.  Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every morning and reapply every two hours if you are outside. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and seek shade when outdoors.

No Excessive Heat or Sweating:

Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating for 48–72 hours, such as intense workouts, saunas, or hot yoga. Sweating may irritate the skin.  Keep your skin cool and avoid hot showers, baths, and steam rooms.

Avoid Makeup:

Refrain from wearing makeup for 24–48 hours post-peel, especially foundation powder, and other heavy products that can clog pores or cause irritation.

Avoid washing your skin right after a peel:

Clients should not wash their skin for 6-8 hours after receiving this peel treatment.

Avoid Swimming and Chlorinated Water:

Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, and saunas for 7 days after your peel, as chlorine and heat can irritate your sensitive skin.

Do Not Pick or Peel the Skin:

You may experience some peeling or flaking as your skin regenerates. Do not pick, peel, or scrub the skin, as this can lead to scarring or infection. Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser and moisturizer as advised by your esthetician.

Hydrate and Moisturize:

Keep your skin well-hydrated. Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer as recommended, applied 2–3 times daily or as needed. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated from the inside.

Avoid Exfoliation and Active Ingredients:

Do not use exfoliants (scrubs, acids, or brushes), retinoids, or any active ingredients like AHA/BHA, vitamin C, or benzoyl peroxide for 7–10 days following the treatment.

Follow the Post-Treatment Routine:

Stick to the post-treatment skincare routine recommended by Marcia. This will likely include gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF.
